I’m a self-taught fine art painter and photographer based in Los Angeles, CA. I draw inspirations from a variety of sources, including mythologies, science fiction, and pop culture. I also get ideas from other art forms, often from music and dance.
My paintings are usually built with a realistic foundation, carried out with a theme, and then completed with elements such as abstraction, but sometimes in different orders. I’m a fan of both classical oil painting and contemporary art, and I enjoy exploring dynamic relationships in visuals, including conflicts or contradictions.
My photography has a strong emphasis on design, from the composition to color theme to model’s body language and facial expressions. Often with the help of unique lighting conditions and subtle color corrections, I try to direct viewer’s attention towards the subject’s emotional state.
Instead of trying to deliver a profound message, I think of my artworks simply a vehicle to carry viewers through a journey that’s supported by their own experiences in life. Therefore, most of my artworks are untitled and open to interpretation. My only hope is that what I create can in some way help people see, feel, or dream.
